The innovative GGDI program prepares (you) graduates to get a job in ANY area of nutrition and dietetics. It is based just north of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, in California. We provide thoughtfully planned, supervised practice experiences led by dedicated, professional Preceptors in the greater San Francisco Bay Area.

MISSION
Develop culturally sensitive, entry-level dietitians who identify needs and opportunities to successfully promote and manage health, wellness, and sustainability within diverse communities.
MS DEGREE
REQUIREMENT
for RD Exam -2024
Effective January 1, 2024, the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) will require a minimum of a master’s degree (in ANY RELATED AREA-- Anthropology, Biochemistry, Business, Dietetics, Education, Nursing, Sociology, Etc.) to be eligible to take the credentialing exam to become a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN).
In order to be approved for registration examination eligibility with a bachelor’s degree, an individual must meet all eligibility requirements in time so to be submitted into CDR's Registration Eligibility Processing System (REPS) before 12:00 midnight Central Time, December 31, 2023. One can sit for the RD Exam anytime after!

GREEN CERTIFICATION
GGDI is designated with Green Business Certification. GGDI wants graduates to be mindful and educate future clients to adopt sustainable practices that effect climate change.
Interns propose and teach procedures to reduce waste and protect the environment through lessons, assessments, in-services, tours, audits and projects.
$500 is awarded to intern(s) for a nutrition leadership project (rotation) (concentration) that will help to mitigate climate change.
Our graduates are our future crop of dietitians!

COVID-19 VACCINE & BOOSTER REQUIRED
All of our facilities/sites for supervised practice require interns to be vaccinated. Hence, proof of such is required for acceptance into the GGDI program to ensure successful completion of the program to become a RD.
PRE-MS DEGREE
2024 REQUIREMENT
SIMPLIFIED:
One needs to get :
• a BS in anything
• a Verification Statement showing completion
of a DPD
• a Verification Statement showing completion of a dietetic internship program
— All that must be uploaded by the program by 12/31/2023.
Then one can sit for the RD Exam anytime after!
The Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
and Licensure
CDR requires that individuals complete coursework and supervised practice in program(s) accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). Graduates who successfully complete the ACEND-accredited dietetic internship program at GGDI are eligible to take the CDR credentialing exam to become an RDN.
